Kilometers for Kidneys 2010
In 2010, I interned for the Kidney Foundation of Northwest. Being from the area, I saw that their annual walk was not as well polished and promoted as others like Race for a Cure or the American Heart Walk. I used the opportunity of a larger venue (the newly built Huntington Center) as well as my college graphic design skills to create themed promotional materials and used them to recruit student organizations, churches and other civic organizations. This was also my first experience working with local media. The result was an outstanding attendance of 500+ people with donations reaching $25,000.
Will It Taste Good?" Video Series
As social media assistant at re:group, part of my job was create content for our clients' social media channels. For Fave Juice, I created the idea for a video series where each flavor was blended with another unconventional ingredient, then judged by a couple taste testers. This was one of my favorite projects because it gave me experience with videography, including editing software IMovie, and also gave me a chance to get to know people better.
Manor House Market Research
In 2015, I began working at the Manor House, a historic landmark at Wildwood Preserve Metropark. Prior to this, I had never been inside and knew nothing about its history. After a few months, I was asked to do some competitive research and turned a basic task into a full marketing plan. This project not only reminded me of my passion for marketing, but also opened my eyes to a new passion for learning about area historical sites and how they work to keep history alive through programming and events
